Taking some of the basic elements of bop, Rob Vuono has created an up-tempo swing chart that is very accessible yet sounds complex. The main catch is an on-the-beat rhythmic figure, almost hinting at the word 'bop. ' Your audience is sure to love it and your students won't be able to get enough of it. 15. Appropriate for first-year jazz ensembles. Playable with as few as 3 saxes, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone, and rhythm section. Pieces consist mostly of ensemble writing.
