Written in memory of one of the composer's dear friends, "In the Glow of the Evening Sun" is a lush chorale full of longing and unexpected harmonic and melodic turns. Mr. Beckham wrote "In the Glow of the Evening Sun" in memory of his dear friend and colleague Gerald Kiger. A week following Mr. Kiger's untimely death, Mr. Beckham composed the work while hiking on the Appalachian Trail.
