Published by Rick Robertson (S0.17584)."Passacaglia" is based on a form that originated in early seventeenth-century Spain, and is still used today by composers. A passacaglia is usually of a serious character and is often, but not always, based on a repeated bass line and is written in triple meter. This example of the classic form is very effective in performance, and is a challenge for the advancing student. It has become a favorite in my studio.
