Trombone Ensemble-8 (opt. 9) - moderately advanced

SKU: CY.CC2536

Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. French 20th Century. Score and parts. Published by Cherry Classics (CY.CC2536).

The Adagio from Symphony No. 3 (also known as the Organ Symphony) is part of the final movement of this great symphony by Saint-Saens. The music is deeply felt and conveys great spiritual conviction. Mr. Sauer's new arrangement has used all of Saint-Saen's music and he has scored it for 8 trombones with an optional 9th part on contra bass trombone.

The Adagio was one of the "Chief's" (Emory Remington's) favourites; the late Mrs. Laura Remington had been the long-time organist with the Rochester Philharmonic and hearing the music would bring back a flood of memories often with tears.

This music is 8 1/2 minutes in length and can be performed by moderately advanced players. Some of the parts are in tenor clef.
