Composed by Andreas Spaeth. This edition: Facsimile Editions. Quintets. Classical. Parts. Rosewood Publications #RFE 11. Published by Rosewood Publications (RW.RFE-11).

Andreas Spaeth (1790-1876) was a German composer. After early tuition from Walter at Rossach he became in 1810 a member of the Coburg court wind band and went to the 1814-1815 war. Although at this point he had no formal tuition in composition it was from that date that he began to compose, especially works for wind band. When in 1816 he went to Coburg with its Prince, he then received some formal lessons in composition from Riotte. In 1821 he became organist at Morges in Switzerland and it is from this period that most of his works for clarinet come. In 1833 he became music director in Neuchatel and in 1838 returned to Coburg as its concert master.
