Edna wrote this song while attending a writers conference in the little town of Hana, on the eastern side of Maui, a very wet and tropical location that is very isolated from the rest of the island because of it’s mountains and steep rising cliffs out of the sea. It is truly one of the last remaining cultural places of old Hawaii, with almost an all Hawaiian population. Each day produces many different kinds of rains, in the morning, the fine mists, in the evening, the dews that fall, and various different weathers thruout the day.
