What does "1 e and ah" mean? That's standard sixteenth note terminology. "1" is the downbeat, "and" is the upbeat, "e" and "ah" are the notes in-between. So the ! is the downbeat, the + is the upbeat, and the - is between. I did this to shorten the measures that only have downbeats or down- and upbeats so I could conserve space.
